Our Lives (some of the thoughts sent to us from the children and parents)

Being the parent of a a child with diabetes, is an awesome challenge. But you are not alone. We are here to help, listen, support, and do whatever we can to make life with diabetes more understandable and more normal.

Poem Written By a Child With Diabetes

I was frightened I began to cry
The nurses came and dried my eyes
Life is not easy but it's not that bad
You'll soon understand and not be sad

You can do what you want, go and play
Do what you want for most of the day
Injections only take two minutes of your time
And after you've had them you feel fine

Now I just take a snack before I go out to play
But I never let Diabetes get in my way
Although I'm hoping there might be a cure
My life's not that bad and of that I am sure
