Constitution

1.    The Children’s Diabetes Group/ SnackPack

2.    Objectives: To Support

The aims of the group are to support the children and their families, and to support the work of Diabetes UK. 

  1. The relief of those children who have diabetes and its related complications, and the support of those that care for them.
  2. The promotion of the wellbeing of those children living with diabetes and its related complications.
  3. The advancement of the understanding of diabetes by the education of those families who live with the condition and the general public.
  4. The promotion of research related to the causes, prevention and cure of diabetes and to improvements in the management of the condition and its complications, and the publication of the results of any such research that is made known to us.

3.    Membership

          Membership of the group is open to all children with diabetes and their families.

4.    Committee

  1. The Activities of the group are governed by a committee
  2. The committee will have a chairperson, secretary, and treasurer and other officers deemed necessary.
  3. Committee members shall be elected at the A.G.M.
  4. The Committee shall meet no less than 4 times each year.
  5. The group secretary or another appointed officer shall keep minutes of committee meetings

5.    Group Annual General Meeting

  1. The A.G.M. should be held no later than March 31st each year. Members of the group should be informed no less than 14 days before the date of the A.G.M.
  2.   At the A.G.M. each person shall have one vote. In the case of a tie the chair shall have the casting vote
  3. The group secretary shall keep minutes of the A.G.M. 

6.    Finances

  1. The audited End of Year Accounts will be presented by the treasurer to the A.G.M.
  2. The funds of the group are held at Barclays Bank. The account to have 3 signatories with all cheques to be signed by two unrelated signatories. The cheque signatories to be appointed by the committee and their names lodged with the Voluntary Groups Section at Diabetes UK.
  3. In the event of the group folding all monies held will be passed to Diabetes UK children’s section.
